Family demands recovery of missing youth

Sister of missing student Shabir Baloch is speaking to media

Karachi: Shabir Baloch, a student leader belonging to Balochistan, has been missing since a year.

His family held a press conference at Karachi Press Club yesterday, demanding his recovery.  “My brother is a peaceful political activist, not a criminal”.

She further said that Shabir was abducted by state forces on October 4th, 2016 from Gorkio, Turbat, Baluchistan. She added we are protesting and struggling for the safe recovery of our brother since one year but no any government official has yet contacted yet.

Balochistan has been the worst victim of human rights violations, enforced disappearances, detentions and extra-judicial killings on the part of the state since the last decade.

Tens of hundreds of political, civil society activists, students, journalists, lawyers, educationists, and commoners have been victims of the above-stated violations of human rights.

Zakir Majeed Baloch, Zahid Baloch, Shabir Baloch are on the top of the list of scores of missing students. This is not the first time that the families are protesting for the recovery but has been a routine since years.
