ONLINE: North American Sindhi diaspora has condemned the abduction of Veteran Sindhi Nationalist Leader Ustad Muhammad Rahimon.
On various social media sites, NA Sindhi diaspora has expressed grave concerns over the rising number of enforced disappearances in Sindh and condemned the abduction of veteran Sindhi nationalist leader.
The posts read “We North American Sindhi diaspora strongly condemn the enforced disappearance of veteran nationalist leader Mr. Mohammad Rahimoon. He is a senior nationalist leader; he devoted his entire life for the prosperity of Sindhi nation.
Another post read “On the Sufi land of Sindh, he always preached love, peace, brotherhood and peaceful co-existence. It is a shameful act, an 80 years old man of Moen-jo-Daro enforceably disappeared in dark night from his village.”
They have called upon the international community to take notice against the enforced disappearances of political activists in Sindh.
“Any act of enforced disappearance is an offense to human dignity. It is a gross violation of fundamental right & denial of the purposes of the Charter of the United Nations & it is the obligation of State under the Charter, in particular, Article 55, to promote universal respect for, and observance of, human rights and fundamental freedoms. We Demand, United Nation, AHRC, Human Rights Watch & Amnesty International must take notice of enforced disappearance of Mr. Rahimoon, under the UN convention enforced disappearances & torture is declared crime against humanity, and all those responsible for authorizing or carrying out torture or ill-treatment must be fully investigated.” they demanded.
