Nasirabad/Hyderabad: The families of missing political activists, abducted by Pakistani LeAs and detained secretly since months, have recorded separate protests in Hyderabad and Nasirabad cities of Sindh.

The families, political and civil society activists are demanding the safe recovery of translator and writer Nangar Channa, teacher Hidayat Lohar, civil servant Khadim Arijo and scores of other political activists enforced disappeared by Pakistani state forces.

Najiullah Channa, Halar Chana, Abdullah Chana and other relatives of missing writer Nangar Channa protested outside the Nasirabad Press Club for his safe recovery.

They said that Nangar Channa has quitted the separatist nationalist politics months before his abduction and he is a peaceful citizen of Pakistan hence should be presented in Pakistani courts if he has offended any law.

While political and human rights activists led by Sorath Lohar and Sarang Lohar protested outside the Hyderabad press club yesterday for the recovery of their missing father, teacher, Hidayat Lohar and other missing political activists.

Talking to the press Sorath Lohar said that peaceful Sindhi political activists have been enforced disappeared, tortured and detained by the state forces for opposing the state’s atrocities and violations of Sindh’s rights.

This is to be noted that Sindh has seen a significant rise in enforced disappearances, detentions and state torture since last year.

The Sindh Police has recently submitted the controversial report to the home department which was highly criticized and doubted by the affected nationalist parties, human rights defenders and Sindh High Court.
