This gathering was iconic after the heavy crackdown of Pakistani LeAs on Sindhi nationalist political activists continuing since past nine months.

According to reports JSMM took out a massive political march to protest the construction of CPEC, Mega-city projects, state torture, enforced disappearances, persecution of religious minorities, forced expulsion, conversions of Sindhi Hindus and forced marriages of Sindhi Hindu girls and held a political gathering to commemorate the 22nd death anniversary of Sain GM Syed, the founder of Sindhudesh freedom movement.

The law enforcement agencies and Pakistan Rangers abducted five JSMM and three JSQM activists while returning to their homes after attending the political gatherings at Sann and lodged an FIR on the charges of high treason against JSMM’s central leaders Sajjad Shar, Shabir Mallah, Ramesh Kumar, Hafeez Sindhi, Asif Juno, Muhammad Rahimoon, Professor Abdul Majeed Mari and others for rallying against CPEC, holding political gathering, making speeches against the sovereignty of Pakistan and demanding the independence for Sindh, at Manjhand-at-Sann Police Station.

While the whereabouts of the abducted JSMM activists Aijaz Gaho, Tofiq Abro, Waqar Chana, Aqib Abbasi, Ateeq Wistro, Sabir Chandio, Ibrahim Chandio and others are still unknown.
