Scores of women also participated in gathering.

Sindhi nationalists commemorate the 113th birth anniversary of Sain GM Sayed, the 20th century Sindhi scholar and politician who laid the foundations of Sindhudesh movement. Various political offshoots of Sindhudesh Movement held political gatherings and birthday celebrations at the town of Sann, District Jamshoro. On this occasion, JSMM, JSQM, JSM, JST and other nationalist organizations held political gatherings while book fair and cultural crafts markets were organized. Tens of thousands of Sindhis visited Sann to participate in the celebrations.
Prominent Sindhi nationalist organization JSMM held a massive anti-CPEC rally from Indus Highway to the tomb of Sayed. The participants of the rally were carrying anti-CPEC, anti-extremist religious terrorism banners and plays cards, demanding total independence for Sindh. JSMM leaders and activists placed floral wreaths at the tomb of Sayed and the tombs of the martyrs of Sindhudesh movement and recited national anthem of Sindhudesh as a salutation on the eve of the 113th birthday of Late Sindhi leader. A political gathering was also organized at the occasion where JSMM leadership and Sindhi intellectuals cut the birthday cake and spoke to the audience vowing to continue their struggle for Sindhudesh and paid rich tributes to the life and struggle of Sain GM Sayed. The gathering was presided by exiled Chairman of JSMM, Shafi Burfat via video link address. He paid homage to the thoughts, ideology, and life of Sayed and analyzed the current political scenario of Sindh. In his address, he said “Sindh has always been an independent country and nation since ages. After the creation of Pakistan, the hopes of Sindhis were not accomplished, and Sayed was the man who outstandingly rejected the religious basis and political course of engineered Pakistani politics and at the right time he declared the struggle for an independent secular, democratic, socialist state of Sindhudesh for Sindhis.” Speaking of the current political situation, he declared CPEC as the death warrant for the cultural, economic, geographic existence of Sindhi and Baloch nations, deeming it a “Punjabi conspiracy to strengthen its imperialist expansionist hegemony over Sindh and Balochistan.” He also termed CPEC as a “trigger of international conflicts and nuclear arm’s race in the region” and “strategic military design of Chinese aggression over the Indian Ocean” and demanded International Community and UN to take an immediate notice of Pakistani state‚Äôs brutality and atrocities against the Sindhi and Baloch political activists, condemning the enforced disappearances of septuagenarian JSMM leader Ustad Muhammad Rahimon and others and extra-judicial killings of JSMM leader Zakir Bozdar, Ashiq Mugheri by the state forces. He announced a Sindh wide strike on February 20th to protest the CPEC and appealed Sindhi nation, trade unionists, lawyers, journalists, students and every Sindhi to cooperate and participate in the strike to send the civilized International community and Chinese imperialists a clear message that Sindh will never accept CPEC and slavery of Punjab.
Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSMM) also organized a membership and public opinion camp at Sann to spread awareness about the statutory sentence of capital punishments to its Chairman Hafeez Pirzado, activist Asif Baat, imprisonments and enforced disappearances of its activists and collective rights of Sindhi students.
